Country Home in Cajun Craze

Can you believe that I have never used Cajun Craze before today?!  It is a very deep rich colour that definitely is the star in this card.

I stamped the pitcher in Cajun Craze on Cajun Craze cardstock and then fussy cut it out.  I coloured the bouquet with my Stampin' Blends - Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.  I often use my Stampin' Blends for simple colouring and not even blending. With small images there isn/t much room for blending anyway, and because they are alcohol based markers, you don't get any of those "Crayola Colouring Lines" like regular markers.  And, when everything is colour coordinated it is so easy to match your cardstock!

Happy Stamping Friends.

Father’s Day is Coming!

Father’s Day will come fast if we aren’t prepared for it!

I am now taking orders for Father’s Day cards.
These ones are all $5 each and I can mail them to you if you’re not able to pick up from me in SE Calgary.

I’m also offering these custom character ones this year!  They  are $10 each as it takes significant time to design, stamp and colour the characters. There are lots of hair options to make them look like your loved ones ❤️

Happy Stamping!

Foxy Friends

The Foxy Friends stamp set has been around for a few years.  It also has a coordinating Fox Builder Punch.  I'm sad that both are retiring.  I used this set for a lot of kid cards because it was easy to create a cute card without too much fuss -- I love punches for that!

Here is a Birthday card I made recently for a little boy.  Surprisingly, I didn't even use the punch, the stamp set worked it's magic and shines on its own.

What can you do during one episode of your favourite TV show?

This is what happened during just ONE episode of Grey's Anatomy.

When I am stuck and don't know what to create, I start by choosing one stamp set.  Then one colour.  From there it is easy to choose coordinating colours.

Today I couldn't choose what colour scheme I wanted because these birds offer so many options.

So... I stamped a few images and started to colour.  One episode later I had all these pieces to create with - four or more cards worth!

So much fun.

How do you get a new catalogue?!

I have a few catalogues ready for new homes!

How do you get one?

Come to my Annual Catalogue Launch Party on June 9!  I will be hosting two times so it can be convenient to more of you. 9-11am or 6-8pm. Please let me know which time you can attend so I can have you on the list and have your gift, project kits, and prizes ready. I will be limiting each time to 6 attendees so spots are limited!

If you cannot attend my event, then also please let me know and I can arrange to get a catalogue to you. Trust me, you’ll want to have a copy in your hands.

Colour Inspiration Part 2

The spark of joy my pajama pants gave me was just what I needed to make this card, in less than 10 minutes!

I used the same colour tones as in my inspiration, but also chose my stamp set based on the floral images.  I chose Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo and Blueberry Bushel for my colours.

This card is also a sneak peak at a new product bundle - a stamp set called Free as A Bird and the Stitched Nested Labels dies (Available June 4, 2019).

My favourite technique is using my stamp sets to create my own patterned paper.  No two cards are alike and you can choose whichever colours you want so you can always have something that matches your colour scheme.

I hope you like this week's Colour Inspiration card - if you'd like to make one too, just let me know and we can set up a class.  Or, if you'd like to purchase this card, I can whip one up for you in no time!

Thursday's Tip

Thursday's Tip!

Do you know what else the Storage Topper Lids are good for?

Storing my ready to use pieces so I don't lose them on my desk... it happens to all of us, doesn't it?

This little tray is the perfect size to hold my pieces while I am cutting cardstock or doing other steps on the card before I need them.

Colour Inspiration Part 3

I'm so excited about this card!

The background is stamped with two images from the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set (Item 148726).  I used the same baby wipe to ink up those images and stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I also stamped the butterfly antenna in Highland Heather.  I adhered my Whisper White layer to a Mint Macaron layer and ran that through my Big Shot with the Country Floral Embossing Folder (Item 151823 Available June 4).

The Hello Beautiful and Butterfly images are from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set (Item 148580).  It coordinates with the Butterfly Duet Punch (Item 148523).

Cardstock used: Mint Macaron, Highland Heather, Whisper White
Other Supplies: Basic Adhesive Backed Sequin Pack (Item 146933), Highland Heather Ink Pad, Highland Heather, Mint Macaron and Petal Pink Reinkers, Tombo Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, Regular and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

I hope you enjoyed my Colour Inspiration card this week.  I'll have another one for you next week!

If you'd like to make this week's card, please let me know and we can set up a class date.

Happy Stamping Friends!

Colour Inspiration Part 2

Mint Macaron, Petal Pink and Highland Heather are from our Subtles Collection. Because they are similar tones, they compliment eachother really nicely. For a bolder look, you could use Gorgeous Grape instead of Highland Heather.

My next inspiration was a photo my mom sent to me. It was a card using the Baby Wipe Technique. I haven’t done that technique in a long time so figured it was time!

For the technique:

1. Fold two baby wipes together and place them on a tile coaster (or a dish or plate. Just something so your work surface doesn’t get wet).
2. Use your reinkers and drop random spots on the baby wipe. You need a large enough area for the size of stamp you are planning to use. (My wipes are folded in quarters)
3. I am using this technique to fill in an outline image so I stamped my outline images first.
4. “Ink” up your stamp on your wipe and then stamp on your card stock.
5. Every time you ink, your stamped image will look different and I love the watercolour effect using these three colours!

If you want to try this technique and don’t have reinkers, please use the Host Code VPQBM2EY when placing your order so I can send you a thank you gift 🎁

Now I know what you’re thinking, that looks like a hot mess! But trust me, it looks amazing once stamped!

Here are all my butterflies stamped. The outline image is stamped in Highland Heather.

Here are my butterflies punched out!! Don’t they look cool 👌

Tomorrow I will post my finished card.

Happy Stamping Everyone!

Colour Inspiration Part 1

Stampin’ Up! has given us the tools to make almost an unlimited amount of colour combinations. With 53 colours to choose from, it’s really easy to choose one colour you’d like to start with, and then choose one or two more that compliment your first pick.

Another way to spark your creativity, is to look around you. What colours are on your granola bar wrapper, on your kids’ shoes, on a shirt at the store. Sometimes all it takes is to see a few colours together that we wouldn’t have thought of and you can create on your own from there!

Here is my colour inspiration this week - a handmade birthday card my daughter received on Saturday. I see Mint Macaron, Petal Pink and Highland Heather.

Stay tuned for what I created using these three colours!

April 29, 2019 Stamp Camp Cards

Here are the cards we made at Monday night's Stamp Camp!

The ladies chose the Tea Together stamp set (Item 148779) as they wanted Mother's Day cards.  They also chose Flirty Flamingo and Blackberry Bliss as their colours.

Here are the cards I designed for their class!

Because not everyone needed three Mother's Day cards, I offered them different sentiments as well.  As you can see, I made two of my samples as Birthday but you could really use any of the cards for many occasions!

I really focused on colouring techniques for this Month. We coloured the small flowers using Blender Pens in CARD 1.  It really gives a light watercolour effect even though we didn't watercolour!  We used Daubers to colour the flowers and leaves in CARD 2.  And finally, we used Aquapainters to colour the roses in CARD 3.
